The focus of v5.4 is on refinement of quality and functionality, rather than introduction of
substantial changes, or major new capabilities. However, there are a number of customer
driven enhancements delivered in this version:

Platform updates
• Support for additional operating system versions:
Windows Vista Clients
Windows Server 2008
64 bit versions of operating systems
• Support for additional database management system versions:

Functional Enhancements
General
• Improved User Interface
Tabbed sessions
Flattened menu structure
Free text search of function list
• Improvements to Security functionality
Improved permissions reporting covering functions, forms and actions
Replacement of the SuperUser account with SuperUser functions that can be assigned to regular users
• Improvements to reporting
Reporting client application updated to Actuate 8
Improved report designer
Bulk Upgrade/Compile utility to migrate reports from earlier versions
• Integrated Business Unit Setup function consolidating multiple earlier functions
Financials
• Enhancements to currency handling
Option to choose to use a current exchange rate when processing payments or receipts, with the system automatically generating any realized currency gain /
loss transactions required.
Balancing is now required by currency for variable currency values
Value 1 and value 3 can now be the same currency for Financials-only Business Units
Value 4 enhancements
Corporate Allocations can now generate Value 3 and 4 on transactions
Value 4 included in Asset Disposal
The effective dates field on Currency Codes has been replaced by an Effective From/To range on Currency Daily Rates
• Analysis
The Address table can be used as an Analysis Dimension
Each Analysis Table can now be linked to multiple Analysis Dimensions
Control improvements
Journal Types can now be Suspended or Closed
The requirement for unique references on Journal Types can now be refined by Account Type
When balancing by Transaction Reference users are notified when changing reference if the previous reference is out of balance.
When changing date or period on a recalled held journal the user is now offered a choice whether to update the exchange rates for the transaction
Users can now select transactions and save them in a Payment Set.
Transactions in a Payment Set are excluded from other payment runs and can then be refined until ready for transfer to the payment process
Address records now have Data Access Groups
Asset Management
• Introduction of Asset Classes
Enables assets to be grouped for processing through functions
Enables default depreciation rules to be set for the Asset Class and inherited by new assets added to that class
• Using the new Asset Quantities function it is now possible to automatically calculate the ledger postings for a part disposal.
Order Fulfillment
• Data can now be transferred to the Ledger Additional Fields in Financials via the Ledger Interface
SunSystems Connect
• New option been added to specify whether input, output or both payloads should be saved on processing
• Upgraded Java Development Toolkit from version 1.4 to 1.5 (for Oracle 11g support)

All previously released functional areas have been regression tested in this release.

As a point release, v4.3.3 is focused on refinement of quality and functionality, rather than introduction of substantial changes. However, there are a number of customer driven enhancements delivered in this version:

• Conversion of Help Text to HTML Help (English only at this release)
• Documentation Revision
• Allow for 1,000,000,000,000 in Report Definition
Ledger Accounting
• Increased options for defining rounding within Automatic Tax Calculation
• Limit Operator access to a Ledger A
• Restrict Account Listing display for zero Brought Forward amounts
• Enhancement of Audit Control for Allocation Marker
Asset Management
• Depreciation Locking allows depreciation, for re-lifed / re-valued, assets to be calculated over remaining life and value of asset
Purchasing
• Order Reference to be displayed on the Purchase Import Validation Report for the import of Goods Received Notes
• By-pass input of Audit Date on Item by means of a flag on the Item record
Sales
• Additional Call Points in Sales Import
• Enable Sales Order Type wild cards in Free Goods Rules
• Retain all original sales calculation values in Credit Notes generated via Returns and Exchanges
• Apply Override Insufficient Stock restriction in Quotation Conversion
Re-branding
• Product re-branding in line with current Infor standards

All previously released functional areas have been regression tested in this release.
