We would like to focus briefly on the topic of Disaster Recovery (DR) and ensuring the availability of SunSystems in the event of a disaster.

The dependency of business processes upon the continuous availability of the technology infrastructure/applications has never been as critical as it is today. Interrupt the IT infrastructure – especially normal access to data – and you effectively interrupt the business.

As a SunSystems customer, you are entitled to make copies of your production environment for backup purposes (e.g. on tape). However, if you want to install the application on an additional server for disaster recovery purposes, that server needs to be appropriately configured and licensed. Depending on the availability required, the server can be set-up as either a “Cold DR server” or else an “Active DR server”. We will work closely with you to ensure that your DR set-up is optimised and will provide the level of availability needed to deliver comfort in the event of a disaster.
